I'm an engineering leader working across distributed systems, performance engineering, and ML infrastructure. I've built systems at every layer of the stack — from VM orchestration and storage management to high-throughput data processing and ML pipelines.

I currently build AI/ML processing infrastructure for enterprise media workloads. Previously: founding engineer at Crystal Cloud (multi-region serverless Postgres), Head of Data Services at Sifchain, VP of Engineering at NexHealth, and CTO at King Street Capital Management — a hedge fund I helped grow from $2B to $20B AUM.

I write here about whatever I'm currently digging into — usually performance, systems internals, or ML infrastructure. Most recently: riptoken, a drop-in tiktoken replacement in Rust that's 2.5×–6× faster.
